Is The Candida Spit Test Worth Doing?

August 20, 2010

The Candida Spit Test is a pretty gross thing to undertake. You get up and very first thing have to work up a good spit and spit it into a glass full of good old H2O. Following this you must observe how it reacts to the water for about an hour.

There is certainly no harm in doing a Candida Spit test, its just that the results are far from conclusive with no real evidence that the results can be relied upon.

In an effort to get an understanding of the accuracy of a Candida Spit Test, I have gone through the process on a few occasions. It is relevant to note that I do not have an issue with Candida or a yeast infection, and as such should get a negative result every time I do a Candida Spit Test. First test indicated that I was in fact in good health. However on two other samples there were some negative signs. Once again there is absolutely no reason for there to be any indication that I have an issue with a candida overgrowth.

But once again if you want to do a Candida Spit Test go right ahead, I just want to make sure to do not place to much emphasis on the results that it gives.

Lets go then, this is how to take the test;

Get yourself a glass of water and put it somewhere that you will notice when you first get up the next morning. Make sure it is a glass or cup that you can clearly see through so that you can see what is happening with your saliva.

Now off you go to bed.

When you get up in the morning before you do anything else, get a good amount of saliva in your mouth and spit it into the glass of water. Its early and you don’t need to be cleaning up a mess, so please do this in an orderly fashion!

Have a look at what you see and then go and have your shower or whatever you would normally be doing if it were not for your Candida spit test.

About every 15 minutes you should review your Candida Spit Test to see what is happening, and do that at least 3 or even better 4 times.

The positive sign to look out for are. Just prior to listing those, these are the Healthy signs of a Candida Spit Test. If during the course of the test your saliva tends to float but gradually disappears, you are clear.

On the other hand you may notice a cloudiness, or stringiness to the saliva, or it may even just sink to the bottom but not dissolve. Lastly there could be spots remaining floating in the water.

According to the Candida spit test theory, if any of this shows up you have Candida Albicans Overgrowth. If you have observed these sings and that it has shown up really quickly, this is an even stronger indication of a problem.

It is most likely that there is some foundation to the results that a Candida Spit Test provide. and assuming that you are researching this topic because you already have your suspicions, a positive result may actually an accurate test.

Accepting that your results may well be positive, use that information in the right manner and that is to go to the next level of getting advice from a doctor. Sure do your candida spit test, but don’t put to much emphasis on its results.

In the mean time it is really important to review your diet. When dealing with a yeast infection it is normal that dietary intake is the cause of the issue and the place to begin for a long term resolution.
